Entries Close: 48 hours prior to the
scheduled First Warning Signal of the first race of each
series. Entries should be created online at

Start:
In or near Duck Island Roads,
Westbrook, CT. The scheduled First Warning Signal for the
Spring Series races is 1200, for the Summer Series it is
1830, and for Fagan Series races it is 1300. In the Fagan
Series and Commissioning Day Regatta, the Warning Signal for
the first Etchells race will follow the start of the last
class in the first race of the PHRF fleet.
Rules:
These races will be governed by The
Racing Rules of Sailing 2009-2012, the 2012 DIYC
One-Design Sailing Instructions, and this Notice of
Race.
Rules Changes:
The Sailing Instructions
change the following rules: Rule 35-Time limit is
by boat, Rule 62.1(a)-Restriction on redress, Race
Signals-Postponement signaled ashore, Appendix
A-Provision for absence in attending away class events..
Courses:
Will be selected immediately prior
to each race by the Race Committee and signaled in
accordance with the Sailing Instructions. The Race
Committee may conduct multiple races on each day, weather
and time permitting.
Sailing
Instructions: Will be
available at least one week before the first Warning Signal
of the first race of each series on the Duck Island Yacht
Club web site

Committee bulletin board located below the deck in the front
of the clubhouse building, Hammock Road South, Westbrook,
CT.

Scoring:
A minimum of 70% of the races must be
completed by a competitor to qualify for series points
awards. 20% of the races scored will be excluded. Boats
that travel to an away Etchells event will receive an
average score for missed races, one event per series.
Results and Prizes:
Traditional token prizes
for the first three places for the day’s races will be
presented at the end of each day’s racing when results are
announced at the Clubhouse. Series prizes will be awarded to
the top three finishers in each class at the DIYC annual
awards banquet at the conclusion of the racing season.
