6/28/11 - An Alternate
Summer Cruise has been added which starts at Block Island the travels west
through Gardiners', Peconic and Shinnecock Bays. See the
detailed itinerary here.
Sailboats can join for most of the cruise except through the Shinnecock
Canal and beyond.
3/20/11 - Anyone considering joining the Annual Cruise should be
thinking about making reservations at this time, and letting
Al Skinner
know of their involvement.

Alternate Summer Cruise - Block
Island, Gardiner's Bay, Peconic Bay, Shinnecock Canal & Bay
The regular DIYC Summer Cruise sounds wonderful.
However with fuel costs being what they are the DIYC power contingent (Just
Desserts, Til & Ceilidh) has made plans to stay closer to home. We will be
joining the start of the regular cruise in Stonington and then splitting off
for a stay at Block before heading for Long Island. Ports of call are
Montauk, 3 Mile, Sag & West Neck before we venture into the Peconic Bays.
Thence for those without sticks, through the Shinnecock Canal into
Shinnecock Bay and the Great South Bay of Long Island where we never have
been. See the attached itinerary. We would be happy to have any boats who
cannot make the regular cruise, accompany us for any or all of the Alternate
Long Island Cruise. Joan Marcus has made our float plan and can be contacted
if you have any questions.
