at 1100.
Rules:
This regatta will be governed by
The Racing Rules of Sailing 2013-2016, the prescriptions
of the US Sailing Association, the DIYC PHRF Sailing
Instructions, and this Notice of Race.
Rule Changes:
The Sailing Instructions change
several rules in addition to Rule 77-Appendix G-sail
numbers are not required and Race Signals-Postponement
signaled ashore.
Courses:
Will be selected immediately prior to
each race by the Race Committee, and signaled in accordance
with the Sailing Instructions. The Race Committee may
conduct two races for some classes, weather permitting.
Sailing Instructions:
Will be available at least one week
before the first Warning on the Duck Island Yacht Club web
site www.diyc.com
. Notices to Competitors will be posted on the Race
Committee bulletin board located below the deck in the front
of the clubhouse building, Hammock Road South, Westbrook,
CT.
Classes & Eligibility:
Spinnaker and non-spinnaker classes
determined by the Race Committee using ECSA-PHRF ratings.
Five or more paid entries of equal rating may request to be
a separate class. Each entrant must have a current, valid
ECSA-PHRF certificate available in the PHRF-ECSA online
database before the Close of Entries. Additionally,
boats must contain, as a minimum, a self-bailing cockpit,
fixed berths, galley facilities and the ability to be self
supporting for a weekend cruise. A class for Melges 24 is
expected.
Facilities:
Some slips may be available gratis at
DIYC on a first come first served basis (check the web site
for contact info). A limited number of transient town
moorings are available for boats under 32 ft LOA in the
Patchogue River. Dockage may also be found at Pilots Point
Marina and anchorage may be found inside Duck Island
breakwaters.
Fees:
Race Fee: $40 per boat ($50 for
entries mailed after October 7, 2013)
Party Fee: $15 per person with entry,
($18 per person at the door)
$10.00 additional for entrants who are
not USSA members

Scoring:
Will be done by a PHRF-based
"time-on-time" system and RRS Appendix A. No races
will be excluded. This is an ECSA Offshore Circuit race.
Results and Prizes:
Results will be announced at the
post-race party at Duck Island Yacht Club at the end of the
day. Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in
each class.
