Entries Close: October 14, 2010

Start: In or near Duck Island Roads, Westbrook, CT. The First Warning Signal is scheduled at 1100.

Rules: This regatta will be governed by The Racing Rules of Sailing 2009-2012, the Sailing Instructions, and this Notice of Race.

Rules Changes: The Sailing Instructions change the following rules: Rule 32-Course may be shortened by class, Rule33-Course may be changed by class, Rule 35-Time limit is by boat, Rule 62.1(a)-Restriction on redress, Rule 77-Appendix G sail numbers are not required, Race Signals-Postponement signaled ashore.

Courses: Will be selected immediately prior to each race by the Race Committee, and signaled in accordance with the Sailing Instructions. The Race Committee may conduct two races for some classes, weather permitting.

Sailing Instructions: Will be available no later than 24 hours prior to first warning signal at Duck Island Yacht Club, Hammock Road South, Westbrook, CT, in the box to the left of the Race Committee bulletin board located below the deck in the front of the clubhouse building, and online at www.diyc.com.

Classes: Several spinnaker and non-spinnaker classes based on PHRF-ECSA handicaps.

Eligibility: Entrants in handicap classes must hold a current, valid PHRF-ECSA certificate on file in the ECSA/PHRF online database before the Close of Entries, or submitted in hard copy with the entry form. Additionally, except for Etchells class entrants, boats must contain, as a minimum, a self bailing cockpit, fixed berths, galley facilities and the ability to be self supporting for a weekend cruise.

Facilities: Some slips may be available gratis at DIYC on a first come first served basis. A limited number of transient town moorings are available for boats under 32 ft LOA in the Patchogue River. Dockage may also be found at Pilots Point Marina and anchorage may be found inside Duck Island breakwaters.

Entry/Party Fees: Race Fee: $36.00 per boat ($40.00 for entries mailed after October 9th 2010)

Additional Fee: $5.00 per boat for entrants who are not USSA members

Party Fee: $8.00 per person with entry form, ($12.00 per person at the door)

Scoring: Will be done by a PHRF-based "time-on-time" system and RRS Appendix A. No races will be excluded. This regatta will count as a qualifying race towards the Lloyd Phoenix Trophy.

Results and Prizes: Results will be announced at the post-race party at Duck Island Yacht Club at the end of the day. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in each class.
