Entries Close: 48 hours prior to the scheduled First Warning Signal of the first race of each series.

Start: In or near Duck Island Roads, Westbrook, CT. The scheduled First Warning Signal for Series races is 1830.

Rules: These races will be governed by The Racing Rules of Sailing 2009-2012, the 2009 JY15, 420 and Laser Fleet Series Sailing Instructions, and this Notice of Race.

Rules Changes: The Sailing Instructions change the following rules: Rule 35-Time limit is by boat, Rule 62.1(a)-Restriction on redress, Race Signals-Postponement signaled ashore, Appendix A-Provision for absence in attending away class events..

Courses: Will be selected immediately prior to each race by the Race Committee and signaled in accordance with the Sailing Instructions. The Race Committee may conduct multiple races on each day, weather and time permitting.

Sailing Instructions: Will be available 24 hours before the First Warning Signal of the first race of each series at Duck Island Yacht Club, Hammock Road South, Westbrook, CT, in the box to the left of the Race Committee bulletin board located below the deck in the front of the clubhouse building, and online at www.diyc.com.

Classes: These races will be for all interested one design classes, 3 or more boats to make a class.

Scoring: A minimum of 70% of the races must be completed by a competitor to qualify for series points awards.  20% of the races scored will be excluded. Boats that travel to an away will receive an average score for missed races, one event per series.

Results and Prizes: Traditional token prizes for the first three places in each class in each race will be presented at the end of each day’s racing when results are announced at the Clubhouse post-race party. Series prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in each class at the DIYC annual awards banquet at the conclusion of the racing season.
