Start:

In Duck Island Roads between the Race Committee Signal Boat and a starting mark placed by the Race Committee prior to each race.

Courses:

Will be selected immediately prior to each race by the Race Committee, and

signaled in accordance with the Sailing Instructions.

Sailing Instructions:

Will be available after 1830 Eastern Daylight Time on Monday, May 5, 2008 at the Duck Island Yacht Club in the box located under the deck at front of the building, and online at www.diyc.com

Classes and Handicaps:

Will be determined by the Race Committee prior to the Series, using PHRF-LIS ratings.  For each entrant (except in the Etchells class), a current, valid PHRF-LIS certificate must be on file and available in the ECSA/PHRF-LIS online database before the Close of Entries, or be submitted to the Race Committee with entry form.

Check-in:

All boats must, upon approaching the Starting Area, check in with the Race Committee Signal Boat prior to each race, by hailing or by VHF radio on Channel 68.  The Race Committee will respond to the call “Duck Island Race Committee.”

The Racing Rules of Sailing (2005-2008), the prescriptions of United Sates Sailing Association, the Sailing Instructions for this Series, and this Notice of Race

Close of Entries:

Spring Series – Tuesday May 6;   Summer Series – Tuesday, July 2.

Entry Fees:

DIYC members

One series:

   $105.00 ($100.00 if entry received before April 30)

Two series:

$190.00 ($180.00 if entry received before April 30)

Non-DIYC members

One series:

   $185.00 ($180.00 if entry received before April 30)

Two series:

 $285.00 ($275.00 if entry received before April 30

Additional:   $  5.00 additional per series for all entrants who are not USSA members                       

$  5.00 additional for entrants who are not USSA members

Scoring:

PHRF-based time-on-time scoring for each race, and the low-point scoring system for series overall results in each class.  

Results:

Will be announced at Duck Island Yacht Club after each day’s racing.
