Rules: |
The races of this regatta will be
governed by The Racing Rules of Sailing 2005-2008,
the prescriptions of United States Sailing Association,
the Duck Island Yacht Club Sailing Instructions
for this event, and this Notice of Race. |
|
|
|
|
Courses: |
Will be selected immediately prior
to each race by the Race Committee, and signaled in
accordance with DIYC Sailing Instructions. The
Race Committee will attempt to conduct two or more races
for some classes, weather permitting. |
|
|
|
|
Sailing Instructions: |
Will be available no later than 24
hours prior to first warning signal at the Duck Island
Yacht Club, Hammock Road South, Westbrook, CT, in the
box to the left of the Race Committee bulletin board
located under the deck in the front of the clubhouse
building, and online at www.diyc.com. |

Classes: |
Will be determined by the Race
Committee prior to the Regatta using PHRF-LIS ratings.
Entries in a separate Etchells class are invited. |

|
Eligibility: |
For each entrant (except in the
Etchells class), a current, valid PHRF/LIS
certificate must be on file and available in the
ECSA/PHRF-LIS online database before the Close of
Entries, or be submitted to the Race Committee with
entry form. Additionally, except for Etchells class
entrants, an eligible boat must contain, as a minimum, a
self bailing cockpit, fixed berths, galley facilities
and the ability to be self supporting for a weekend
cruise. |

Check-in: |
All boats must, upon approaching
the Starting Area, check in with the Race Committee
Signal Boat prior to each race, by hailing or by VHF
radio on Channel 68. The Race Committee will respond to
the call “Duck Island Race Committee.” |

|
|
Facilities: |
Some slips may be
available gratis at DIYC on a first come first served
basis. A limited number of transient town moorings are
also available (for boats under 32 ft LOA) in the
Patchogue River. Water taxi service will be available between the DIYC facility and
all marina slips, moorings, and boats anchored in Duck
Island Roads. Dockage may also be found at
Pilots Point
Marina.

be provided and must be shown to obtain food and drink.) |

Scoring: |
Races will be scored using a
PHRF-based “time-on-time” system. The Low Point Scoring
System will be used to determine the places for boats in
each class overall for the Regatta. |

|
Results: |
Will be announced at the post-race
party at Duck Island Yacht Club. Prizes will |
|
|
be awarded for the first three
places in each class. |
|
Prizes: |
Sea Tow Central CT will award
prizes to the Sea Tow member in each class with the best
finish. Member must present proof of membership.  |
