Plans for Labor Day at Mystic Seaport (As of 5/21/09).

I have already reserved 9/5, 9/6 and 9/7 for DIYC at the Mystic Seaport. We have 10 slips on 'hold' for DIYC. I have paid a $250 deposit for this, and it will be returned to me if not all used.

Since North Cove will be there, Mr. Sawyer, harbormaster, has reserved our slips at the regular docks; not the North yard. He knows the size of Just Desserts and Ceidligh. He requires each boat to call and set a $100 deposit from each boat planning to attend. The DEADLINE for these reservations is AUGUST 4th. Their number is 860-572-5391.

If a boat family choses to JOIN Mystic Seaport Mariner membership for one year, they may join with $99, and receive a rate of $2.75/foot instead of $3.98/foot plus tax, and all people onboard are free to enter the seaport, as well as 2 additional guests per boat.

Weekend Activities will include:

Friday: travel and 'on your own'.

Saturday Sept.5 evening Cocktails on the dock (near Shenanigans) at 5pm.
Any member from DIYC may enter the Mystic Seaport FREE and come to our party; please bring a 'heavy hors d oeuvre' of your choice, and your own drinks. You will be able to tour the seaport and visit with all the Duckies who are there; Duck Prizes will be awarded!

Sunday: Group luncheon at Seaman's Inn if 6 or more contact me before Aug 1. Or, visit Mystic Downtown Food and Art Festival (happens each year). Sunday evening: walk to town for IceCream at 'Mystic Bridge IceCream'.

Monday: head home.
