COLUMBUS DAY CRUISE

OCTOBER 6 – 8,  Hamburg Cove

***10/1/12 Update - See Notice Board for a possible destination change.***

 .

Hamburg Cove is just above Essex on the Connecticut River. Plenty of water with rental moorings available ($20/boat w rafting permitted). A dingy ride to the inner cove or up to Selden Creek is recommended. Hamburg Yacht Club has always allowed us to use their dingy dock & parking lot, for those that come by car.

We will host a cocktail party & pot luck supper on Sunday night starting at 5PM. For those coming by car call me c203-907-7175 and we will come get you. The Connecticut River can be spectacular this time of year & Hamburg Cove is always beautiful.

Did you know that at Flat Rock at the beginning of the channel between the Outer Harbor & Inner Harbor there is a spring that was used by the Native Americans before the arrival of the Pale Face?

Tides & Currants: Saturday 6th 9:20AM Slack Low at DI Roads (so mid to late morning you will get lift up the river. Monday Slack Low at Saybrook Jetty 11:15AM ( a mid/early morning departure from the cove will give you the current down river and then current with in Sound back to Westbrook). Check your own navigation.

Some of us hope to leave on Friday. Til & Just Desserts will not be with us so the sail boats will be in the majority.

Please let me know if you will join us.
